At the business meeting of the section, held in siena in September 2019, the members of the section agreed to dismiss the experimental publication of the journal Radio, sound and Society that we started in 2016. We learned important lessons about the difficulties of managing a new journal in the highly competitive environment of academic journals and we decided to focus on collaborations with existing and established international radio journals, such as The Radio Journal and the Journal of Radio and audio Media. In 2020 we edited a special issue for The Radio Journal on Radio as a Social Media.
